One for the Husband

After 6 years, I am more in love with my husband than ever. Although of course we aren't perfect, it seems like we go through doors all the time that help us love each other deeper on a level we didn't even know existed. There are some things I just wouldn't ever change about Kenny, and since our anniversary was this week, I wanted to publicly post a few of them.

He doesn't like football. For this, I will forever be grateful because I don't either.
He dresses either like a homeless man or a trucker. Everyone envies his style.
He talks about his feelings, on a regular basis with me.
We meet once a week to read the Bible and pray together. Mondays.
He comes up with the best ways to say I love you. To date, the winner is probably, "I love you more than Jeremy Reed loves electricity." (If you don't get it, see the movie Powder)
He eats just about everything I cook.
He usually does his own laundry. "I'm a big boy, Chels, I can take care of my own laundry."
He's passionate about doing whatever is best for the Kingdom.
He's committed to striving toward simplicity. Most of the time.
He loves talking theology.
Natural athlete. Kicked my butt at snowboarding.
He likes quiet mornings. I have learned to love them too.

I could keep going, but I'll stop. This is hard to write because I don't want to tell all, but I do want to encourage other couples to work at their marriage. Don't settle for being good roommates. It's OK to table issues for a little bit, but don't sweep them under the carpet. Pray, pray, and pray some more for your spouse. Be passionate for each other. Love each other. Marriage IS one of the simplicated things, but I fear we only put it on the complicated list instead of realizing all the simple ways to make it great.

Amen! Praise God for a couple who love the Lord! He's so good... I can't imagine how much you will love each other in another 6 years!
